When I was driving around doing location scouting for this cute couple’s engagement shoot, I found the perfect spot!

It had a big dam with gorgeous purple flowers all around it. The water reflected not only the purple flora but also the majestic mountains surrounding it! I then missioned about trying to find someone to ask their permission to be there. Through various farm workers and managers, I eventually reached the farmer. Upon explaining to him that I would like to use the stunning dam as a spot for the couple shoot- he proceeded to say; “Yes, but it will be R5000!”

I didn’t know whether to laugh or to take him seriously. So I laughed. He didn’t. I then asked, “Rerig Oom?” and then he said that I could make an appointment with him on the following Monday morning where we could talk about it.

I wasn’t going to take any risks of any misunderstandings so I politely explained to him that although it was the perfect spot, I was sure that I would be able to find another perfect spot elsewhere where it wouldn’t cost me my arm, leg and belly button. But thanks none the less!

So Franske and Melanie met me at Middlevlei wine farm where the surroundings and late afternoon light were just as perfect! We had lots of fun prancing around in the fields, chilling with the donkeys and getting hay fever.

Franske and Melanie are High school sweethearts that are still very much in love! So it was such a pleasure to spend the afternoon with them capturing that love on camera! Ek sien baie uit na julle troue in Sep volgende jaar julle tweetjies! blessings xxx
