I met Carine and Jandro for the first time when I did their couple shoot last year (To view click here). From the onset I could tell that they were warm friendly people who were easy to get along with so I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding too. This friendly couple got married in their home town Vredendal, which meant that my lovely assistant Tash and I had the chance to road trip again! We came from an incredibly windy Stellenbosch and drove in to a thundery Vredendal. We felt as if the weather man was playing a big fat joke on us. Last time we were in the area for a wedding- it was the same story.
The pretty little garden that Carine wanted to have the ceremony at was completely flooded by the monster of a thunder storm that had rolled in! So another plan had to be made, the only other option they had was to move the ceremony into the tiny chapel on the venue. I think this venue was only designed to seat about 30 people, approximately 80 people were squeezed into the matchbox space to witness their friends tying the knot!
Thankfully the weather moved on and we were able to get some cool shots for their couple shoot. When we returned to the reception we were welcomed by true plattelandse catering and I must admit- I might have drooled a bit when I saw the yummy food! The following day, accompanied with good music, and plenty of padkos, we made our way back to Stellies.
Carine en Jandro- alles van God se beste vir julle paaitjie voorentoe! Ek weet hierdie jaar gaan ‘n geseende en lekker ene wees vir julle! Blessings
