What a funky, spontaneous and utterly fun couple I had the privilege to photograph! Colin and Riette got married in Riette’s home town, Graaff-Reinet, in the idyllic Eastern Cape. That weekend the town was booming with people, as it was The Union High Festival and there were 6 other wedding being held there too! The weather wasn’t feeling as celebratory as the people, and it rained for most of the weekend. So much so that shortly after they put up the reception marquee, a flash flood went through and furrows had to be dug in order to divert the rest of the water away from the tables etc. The rain stopped thankfully at all the times I needed it to- and we were able to venture out and take some fun and dramatic shots for the couple shoot. The clouds as nice and dramatic as they were also made it dark a lot quicker- but we managed to get enough shots before it just got too gloomy!
Colin and Riette are down-to-earth, and super fun people who care deeply for those around them. They laughed the whole way through the day- filled with genuine love and joy. It was so contagious- one just couldn’t help but smile too! Colin and Riette- thank you for a great time! May your love and joy keep growing , and may your life always be filled with wonderful people, blessed times and happy memories! Blessings xxx
