I was stressing and mentally preparing myself for this wedding the whole week before. Why, you might think? Well, I had intense stomach pain at the start of the week and when I went to the hospital on the Tuesday- the doctor confirmed that I had appendicitis and that my appendix would have to be removed ASAP. My biggest concern was that I needed to be up and running by the Saturday so I could shoot Jess and Dom’s wedding!! I was not going to miss this! :) The doctor I think, thought I was a little bit nuts, but none the less- due to my adamancy he assured me that they would do everything they could so that I could work like I needed to.
With a successful operation under the belt, patched up stitches and copious amount of pain pills I waddled off to Nooitgedacht to “Go do this thing!”
I don’t know if it was the pain pills, or the fact that Jess and Dom, and their loved ones were so amazing- but I did not feel pain the whole day until I fell back into bed that night. From start to finish this wedding was an effortlessly fun one, and Jess and Dom are just the sweetest people alive! Goodness, they were so easy to work with- and my, do they make pretty pictures! Thanks Dom and Jess for being so amazing! I hope that your marriage will be as blessed and as effortless as your wedding day was! :)
What made my day so much more manageable too was having a little angel by my side, with the name Claire Harries. Claire was such a fantastic help, and allowed me to do my work with as little pain as possible as she lugged around my heavy equipment and assisting me in every way possible. A massive thank you to you Claire!
Marlie Basson did an amazing job with Jess’s hair and make up! Wow! Working alongside Jacques and Jaco from GuavaGraphics videography was also such a pleasant experience, and Natalie from NDG events and weddings planning made sure everything ran smoothly. My pretty Vintage decorated the tables brilliantly, Nooitgedacht dished out some amazingly yummy food- and the party created by Me and Mr Brown was pretty epic too. All in all, I think it was a very successful wedding and I wish Dominic and Jessica all the best for their journey together! Lots of love and blessings xxx
