“Marry your best friend. I do not say that lightly. Really, truly find the strongest, happiest friendship in the person you fall in love with. Someone who speaks highly of you. Someone you can laugh with. The kind of laughs that make your belly ache, and your nose snort. The embarrassing, earnest, healing kind of laughs. Wit is important. Life is too short not to love someone who lets you be a fool with them. Make sure they are somebody who lets you cry, too. Despair will come. Find someone that you want to be there with you through those times. Most importantly, marry the one that makes passion, love, and madness combine and course through you. A love that will never dilute – even when the waters get deep, and dark.”

Peter and Nina met each other as architects while working for a commercial practice in Cape Town. Both being creative, relaxed and spontaneous- they got along like a house on fire. Career and direction changes meant that they would do some long distance dating, before getting engaged and married shortly after. The wedding took place on the Bruyns family farm, Peter’s childhood home. The farm is just outside of George, and boasts some beautiful views of the mountains, especially at sunset. At one stage during the day though, dark looming clouds came over and threatened to take not only the view of the mountains but also the sunset. But then during the couple shoot, divine light which must have come directly from God himself broke through the darkness and turned the session into golden hour goodness.
To Peter and Nina- you two are absolutely stunning together. Thanks for being such a delight to work with! May your marriage be an extremely blessed one in which you enjoy so much laughter, peace, love, joy and contentment and may you keep falling more and more in love with one another with each day that passes. Sending all my love and blessings! xxx
Thanks too to my darling husband Fanie for assisting me on your off weekend :)
