I met Cara at University through my best friend Kim. The occasional times that I’ve seen her since then, we picked up where we left off and ended up chatting up a storm. Cara is easy going, fun and spontaneous- and I knew the guy she was going to marry one day was going to have to be some sort of legend to match this amazing girl’s personality.
The day I met Donovan (at their engagement shoot at the beginning of this year) I came to realize that Cara had indeed met her match. Don is kind and generous, and bucket loads of fun too. Together they are going to live a life full of adventure and good laughs- I am sure of it.
Don and Cara (#CaraVan) got married at Kleinevalleij near Wellington. The day started out looking rather ominous weather wise. When I arrived to do location scouting- I could hardly locate myself in the thick mist, let alone the Wellington mountains. This of course made location scouting for pretty spots rather interesting because I literally couldn’t see any of the surrounding prettiness. It was all hidden in a thick cloud of grey. Thankfully though, with about 20 min left to scout, the sun started clearing away the grey cover and unveiled some rather nice spots. The rest of the day was partly cloudy, but if there was a majority rule it was definitely in favour of the clouds.
During the couple shoot there was a small overthrow of the majority rule and for a brief 10-15 min we experienced the most exquisite golden hour light. A sure sign of the Lords blessings and favour on this couple.
Don and Cara, may you continue to walk in His blessings and favour for the rest of your lives. May your marriage radiate His light, and in doing so act as a beacon of hope to others around you that are needing to be lifted up and encouraged.
Thanks for being such legends! Sending lots of love xxx
Tash, you were amazing to have help me out on the day- thank you! :)
