The first time I saw Helen was when she was a little first year, sitting on the mat with the rest of the ‘sade’ (aka first years), nervously awaiting our instructions as HK of Nemesia residence. I noticed her because of those striking blue eyes, and gentle smile- and she just looked so incredibly sweet. As the year went on, I got to observe her in her coming in and out of res, and she always greeted everyone with the same genuine friendliness and care, ad stunning smile on her face.
Years later I received an email from a Helen Churchman inquiring as to my availability for her wedding, and immediately the picture of that sweet girl popped back into my mind! What a privilege it was to be a part of their wedding day!
Helen is a farm girl and grew up in the Grabouw district, famous for it’s delicious fruit- and gorgeous scenery. So it made sense to get married down the road from their farm, at a wonderful venue called Glenbrae.
I met Jordache for the first time on his wedding day- and what a dapper chap! He is a true gentleman who has the same genuine friendliness and care built into his character. Principled and wise, I know he is going to be a wonderful husband to Helen. Jordy and his groomsmen also made sure that all guests were highly entertained after dinner, when they performed a flash mob dance for Helen. Was so good- well done lads!
Both Jordy and Helen have the most amazing families- and are truly lucky to have such great bonds with them all. My heart was so touched when Jordy’s gran went forward in church to pray for them- how special to have a grandparent covering you in prayer! May the Lord bless your marriage and relationship in such a phenomenal way Jordy and Helen, in which you become more and more like Him everyday, bringing glory to His name. Sending you so much love and blessings xxx
Thanks too to Tash my amazing assistant- you are the bombdiggity! :)
